Baby teeth are often called primary teeth and all 20 will be exfoliated unless the replacing permanent tooth is congenitally missing. They begin erupting in the front of the mouth between the ages of 4 and 7 months and usually are completed around 24 months. They are very important and should be properly maintained for space maintenance for the permanent teeth and for proper health related to chewing and digestion of food.
